My Review

This book was a total roller coaster, mind f**k, darkly sexy, gem of a book!
Blake has a tortured past, it molded and shaped him into the man he is today, and he's perfectly ok with that. Cop by day, hired hit man by night. He does what he's good at, making his way through life, just trying to provide for his younger brother. His brother is the only person who matters to him, his targets? Necessary. Their family's? A casualty. The girls he uses? Something to fill his time.
But when he meets Melody, that all changes. Can the girl he cant get out of his head, make him change his ways? Or will she be a casualty of his life styles too?
Melody had a it all. Loving and supportive parents, a caring ex boyfriend, and a new school, to become the blossoming woman she wants to be. But all that changes in one night. Alone, apart from a creepy half brother, Melody struggles with her new life.
But is her life still in danger? Who will she trust and will it be the right person? Or will she fall into the arms of a killer?

I have to say Ker Dukey is easily becoming one of my favorite authors of all time. She is a woman who knows how to write dark and twisted! The writing was amazing, the story is something that's unique and different. Chapters are told form multiple points of view, it keeps you wondering and at the edge of your seat.

I loved this book and would highly recommend it!

Meet Ker Dukey

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script. I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so I thought it best that I tell my own. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister. As an English major in college, I took a summer job as a proofreader for a small town newspaper, and got hooked on editing. I also worked my way through college training horses. After graduation, I landed a job for a small independent editing firm, and stayed there for 15 yrs. An old friend, Lucian, approached me to edit his special fiction project, and I got hooked.
